Tupelo pool project likely

TUPELO – The City Council likely will approve an $11.3 million aquatic complex, with a vote expected in June.

Council members met with the Department of Parks and Recreation and JBHM Architects on Tuesday at City Hall to review the pool project. They generally supported the plans and said they would vote on the matter at their next meeting June 7.

The vote authorizes Parks and Rec Director Don Lewis to launch a bid process, which Lewis said could take six months.

Once bids come in and a winner is selected, the council will again vote to proceed or halt the project.
