The Tupelo Public School District announced they will have a “significant announcement” Tuesday.
No school officials would confirm, but the announcement it is expected to be the naming of a new school superintendent.
A notice posted at the Hancock Center also says the school board will meet at 3:30 p.m. in special session. The reason stated for the meeting on the note is to continue the process for the finding a new superintendent.
The following announcement was sent on behalf of the Tupelo Public School District Board of Trustees:
“The Tupelo Public School District will make a significant announcement addressing the future of our 7,500-student public school system Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon at the Tupelo High School Performing Arts Center on the Tupelo High School campus.”
