TUPELO – The Tupelo Public School District received another $3 million low-interest bond that can be used for school construction.
The Qualified School Construction Bond is part of the federal stimulus act.
TPSD Executive Director of Operations Julie Hinds said the money will be used for extensive renovations to Tupelo High School’s Fine Arts building. Remaining money will be used for other renovations on the high school’s campus.
The district also received a $3 million QSCB last year, and used the money to renovate the administration, freshmen and art buildings at THS. The district applied with the state Department of Education to receive the money.
