Power should be restored throughout Tupelo today after a similar outage as Monday occurred around 1:15 p.m., according Tupelo Water & Light.
Tupelo Water & Light says the problem started came from the same substation near Harrisburg Baptist Church that was out Monday.
Johnny Timmons of Tupelo Water & Light said the outage Tuesday was caused when ground relays malfunctioned and in turn shut down the entire substation.
The same areas as Monday were without power.
A raccoon, snake or an opossum was being mentioned as a possible cause of the Monday afternoon blackout that left 75 percent of Tupelo without power.
Timmons said a switch was tripped around 2:30 p.m. Monday and shut down the substation near Harrisburg Baptist Church.
