Tupelo woman charged with arson

TUPELO – A $260,000 bond was set for a Tupelo woman who is charged with first degree arson and the burglary of an automobile.
Joley Wheeler/Whitt, 42, of Tupelo was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident in addition to the two felony charges.
Early Tuesday morning, a structure fire was reported on County Road 1029 in Lee County.
Mooreville and Plantersville volunteer fire departments responded and found a wrecked vehicle on fire and nearby, a house fire.
Officers found the wrecked vehicle belonged to Wheeler/Whitt who was found at a nearby residence in another vehicle.
The bond was set by Lee County Justice Court Justice Judge Pat Carr.
