KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Valley Authority bills will decrease $3 to $6 monthly beginning Dec. 1 under the utility’s wholesale fuel cost adjustment.
TVA said in a news release Thursday the adjustment will be lowered from its current credit of 0.309 cents per kilowatt-hour to 0.662 cents.
The agency attributed the decrease to higher than planned hydro generation, lower than expected sales and lower fuel prices in general.
The adjustment is used to help recover fluctuating fuel and purchased power costs.
TVA, the nation’s largest public utility, provides power in Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia.
