The annual Forbes Celebrity 100 list of the world’s most powerful stars just came out. The Celebrity 100 is quite literally the top 100 celebrities in the world, according to both fame and fortune. Forbes tracks everything from earnings to endorsement deals to press coverage to fan followings over the past twelve months and then calculates the list.
This year, Oprah Winfrey came in at the top spot and earned a whopping $315 million in just twelve months. Newcomer Lady Gaga burst onto the list, snatching up the number four spot with $62 million dollars.
Perhaps the most surprising results of the 2010 list however belong to the leading actors of Twilight. Twilight’s leading man, Robert Pattinson, debuted on the list at number 50 with $17 million and leading lady, Kristin Stewart, debuted at number 66 with $12 million.

While neither actor pulled in that much money (at least not compared to other celebrities!), the Twilight francise is so culturally significant that these actors have enjoyed enough fame and media attention from their affiliation with it to overrule the cash flow.
Author Stephenie Meyer, the mastermind behind the Twilight book series that spawned the films (the third movie Twilight Saga: Eclipse opens this week) also made this year’s list, ranking 59th with $40 million dollars. Unlike Pattinson and Stewart, Meyer is not a newcomer to the list; she actually resided at a higher position on the list last year — number 26.
