Two airlifted to Tupelo after Hwy. 30 wreck in Union County

POOLVILLE – A two-vehicle accident involving a log truck Thursday morning left two people seriously injured.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, two people in a vehicle were airlifted from the wreck scene to North Mississippi Medical Center around 11 a.m.
Trooper Ray Hall said it appeared Sheryl Campbell, 55, of Potts Camp, was on the side of Highway 30 in a 2007 Pontiac Vibe when she attempted to make a U-turn and pulled into the path of a 2005 International Semi Tractor/Trailer loaded with logs.
Neither Campbell nor her passenger were wearing a seat belt. They were listed in serious condition Thursday night.
Gregory Russell, 27, of Booneville, who was operating the log truck, was uninjured in the wreck.
The accident is under investigation.
