Two arrested, charged with attempted burglary

BALDWYN – Two Tupelo men were apprehended in woods near Highway 370 West in Baldwyn and charged with the attempted burglary of a pharmacy early Tuesday morning.
Christopher Freeman, 27, and Lenardo Heard, 30, of Tupelo, were arrested after Baldwyn Police responded to an alarm call from the Medical Arts Pharmacy in Baldwyn at 12:13 a.m.
Assistant Baldwyn Police Chief Greg Boxx said officers were on the scene before the suspects were able to gain entry into the pharmacy and the suspects then fled on foot.
Lee County and Prentiss County sheriff’s deputies assisted in the search.
Boxx said this is the fourth burglary or attempted burglary of a Baldwyn pharmacy in as many months.
