Two men have been arrested in connection with a Friday night shooting in Itawamba County.
According to Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson, Jacob E. Rodgers, 22, of 1324 County Road 2788, and Derrick D. Dugard, 23, of 1130 County Road 1529, were arrested on Jan. 13 and later charged with the shooting of a dwelling. The suspects allegedly entered into an argument with the resident of 12775 Highway 371 North in the Kirkville area, after which they left the property and later returned with a 12-gauge shotgun, which they discharged at the house three times.
Although several people, including a child, were inside the house during the shooting, no one was injured. Both suspects were allegedly intoxicated at the time of the shooting.
Both suspects received initial court appearances before Justice Court Judge Barry Davis. Each was given a $10,000 bond. If convicted, each suspect faces a five to 10 year sentence.
