Two charged in separate home burglaries

TUPELO – Two men have been arrested in connection to separate burglaries.

The Tupelo Police Department has charged Michael E. Taylor, 48, of Tupelo, with burglary of a dwelling and DUI third offense. TPD responded to a burglary call on Clayton Street at 10 p.m. on March 31, with the home owner reporting that the residence had been robbed of several items, including electronics, decorative items and various home furnishings.

Around 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance on West Jackson Street, where they located and arrested Taylor on a felony DUI warrant.

The officers noticed the stolen items from the Clayton Street report were in Taylor’s residence.

Bond for Taylor has been set at $10,000.

On March 20, Lacarius McCoy, 19, of Tupelo, was arrested and charged with burglary of a dwelling. McCoy, who was out on bond on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault, had bond set at $7,500.
