Two children killed in Senatobia crash

SENATOBIA — A three-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 51 in Senatobia has claimed the lives of two young girls.

Senatobia Police Chief Steve Holts tells The Commercial Appeal a car was struck from behind by a FedEx truck. Holts says a second car was also involved in the incident that killed a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old.

Holts says the driver of the first car was the mother of the children who died. She was treated on the scene for injuries, as was her 15-year-old nephew, who had been riding in the front passenger seat.

Holts says the two children killed were in the back seat.

The accident occurred at 12:09 p.m. Thursday, about one mile south of Magnolia Heights School.
