Two men arrested in Tupelo in connection with Memphis murder

TUPELO – Two men wanted in connection with a Memphis motel murder were arrested in Tupelo today.

Joshua Trenell, 23, and George Bady, 19, both from the Memphis area, were arrested by officers from the Oxford and Memphis offices of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Tupelo Police Department.

The two are wanted in connection with the Dec. 8 murder of Firdous Mawlawi, 19, at the at Super 8 Motel in Memphis.

Trenel was taken into custody at the Motel 6 on McCullough Boulevard without incident. Bady was later found and arrested on County Road 1562 in Lee County. Both arrests were made shortly after 1 p.m. Friday.

Both suspects were transported to the Shelby County Jail in Memphis.
