Two men charged with Tupelo residential burglary

TUPELO – Bond was set Thursday for two men charged with burglary of a residence.
Bond was set at $30,000 for Phillip Elkins, 23, of 3545 Mitchell Road and $50,000 for Joshua Watkins, 19, of 3584 Endville Road, Belden. The two men were arrested Tuesday after someone called 911 saying they saw two men carrying a television from an apartment on Westgate Drive. Elkins and Watkins were arrested at an apartment on West Jackson Street shortly after.
Authorities said they recovered two televisions, jewelry and a cell phone.
Tupelo investigators are working with investigators from Lee County and the Booneville Police Department on recent burglaries that the suspects may have been involved in.
