PONTOTOC COUNTY – Two remain in critical care at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a head on collision on the Natchez Trace Tuesday.
Chief Ranger Sarah Davis said evidence and witnesses reports show the driver of a 2002 Infinity was traveling north on the Natchez Trace when she crossed over the center line and collided with a mini van traveling south.
The drivers of the two vehicles are still in the Intensive Care Unit. The four passengers in the mini van were treated and released from NMMC.
No charges have been filed and the National Park Service is still investigating the crash.
Davis said they are waiting on a blood sample test from the driver of the 2002 Infinity.
The accident happened Tuesday around 2:30 p.m., close to mile mark 245 near Pontotoc.
