Two suspects arrested in Corinth robbery

CORINTH – Two suspects remain jailed on $50,000 bond each as suspects in an Aug. 18 armed robbery and shooting at North Polk Street and Highway 2.

A $50,000 bond has been set for Devon Collins, 19, of Sawyer Road, who remained in Alcorn County Jail Saturday and Demarquez Williams, 18, of Wick Street, who also remained in Tishomingo County Jail Saturday.

Corinth Det. Capt. Ralph Dance said the investigation led to the two suspects and they were arrested this week. Williams was picked up Thursday on a drug-related warrant on South Parkway Street.

Though both men remain suspects in a second attempted robbery and shooting early the morning of Aug. 19, the weapon has not been recovered that link the two incidents, Dance said. A third female suspect in the second armed robbery attempt is still being sought.

Anyone with information to assist the investigation is asked to call the Corinth Police Department, (662) 286-3377 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi, (800) 773-8477.
