UM's Gaskins may not play at SMU due to hamstring

Ole Miss will begin SEC play on the road Saturday but before then will tune up with its final non-conference game, also on the road.
The Rebels take on SMU tonight at 7 at the Mustangs’ Moody Coliseum.
Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy says he’s not sure if guard Trevor Gaskins, who has missed the last two games with a hamstring pull, will make his return to action tonight.
“We’re hopeful to get him back this week,” Kennedy said Monday.
SMU, of Conference USA, has won five straight games to get to 9-4. Two of those wins have come against SWAC opponents. Ole Miss is 11-3.
SMU is coached by former Notre Dame and North Carolina coach Matt Doherty, who is 56-79 in his fifth season in Dallas.
The Mustangs are allowing just 59.5 points a game and have held opponents below 60 points in five of their last nine games.
Forwards Pap Dia (17.0 ppg) and Robert Nyakundi (16.3 ppg) are the top scorers in a cut- and pass-heavy Princeton-styled offense.
Ole Miss is getting 18.4 points and 4.4 assists a game from Chris Warren, who also leads the SEC and ranks fifth nationally with a 93.9 free throw percentage.
Warren continues to climb Ole Miss charts for scoring and 3-point shooting and is the SEC’s active career leader in points, assists, 3-point baskets and 20-point games.
