JACKSON – The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) would like to inform motorists of some upcoming lane closures in Lowndes County.
Due to repairs being performed on the Old West Point Road Bridge, crews are intermittently closing parts of Highway 82 eastbound in order to replace a damaged beam and other damaged areas on the bridge. MDOT has provided a list of the upcoming closures:
– Key Constructors, Inc. began work on Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. and have temporarily closed one eastbound lane of Highway 82. This single-lane closure may be in place through the life of the project.
– On Thursday, September 27 at midnight, both eastbound lanes will be closed and reopened in 30 minute increments. One of the eastbound lanes will be opened at 5 a.m. and operated under a single-lane closure until midnight.
– Beginning at midnight on Friday, September 28, both lanes will be closed in 30 minute intervals until 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
MDOT regrets any inconveniences these closures may cause.
