An early morning house fire in Aberdeen has left one man dead.
According to Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley, Larry James Rogers, 52, was pronounced dead at Pioneer Community Hospital at 1:25 a.m. Rogers was the victim of a house fire at 403 Hardy Street. According to Monroe County Emergency 911, the first call on the fire was reported at 1:08 a.m.
“We know what probably caused the death, but we are still sending the body to Jackson for an autopsy,” Gurley said.
Gurley said state fire marshal investigators and members of the Aberdeen Police Department are currently on the scene investigating the cause of the fire.
