JACKSON — Atmos Energy Corp. is expecting lower heating bills this winter amid a forecast of lower natural gas costs.
David Gates, president of Atmos Energy’s Mississippi Division, says the company forecasts that it will pay 10 percent to 12 percent less this year for natural gas as compared with 2008.
Gates says those fuel savings will be passed on to customers where it operates.
Dallas-based Atmos serves more than 3 million natural gas distribution customers in more than 1,600 communities in 12 states.
