TUPELO – A May 17 trial date is expected for former Tupelo real estate agent Cheryl Pine, indicted on two counts in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme to kill her husband.
Pine’s attorney, James Craig of Jackson, said today he expects Circuit Judge Paul Funderburk to order the case continued from the February term docket.
From there, the District Attorney’s Office and Pine’s defense will agree on a schedule for motions, with hearings likely in early May, he noted.
Pine, who now lives in the Jackson area, pleaded not guilty and has been free on bond since her 2009 indictment.
