JACKSON — A Federal Aviation Administration employee remained hospitalized Wednesday as investigators tried to determine the cause of a helicopter crash that killed another FAA worker.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said Charles Farmer, a 59-year-old FAA employee from Wetumpka, Ala., died in the crash. An autopsy was ordered.
Jack Mazurak, spokesman for the University of Mississippi Medical Center, said Larry Wells remained in critical condition. The helicopter carrying Wells and Farmer crashed into a house in Jackson Tuesday afternoon.
Johnny White, who witnessed the crash, said the helicopter circled as its engine sputtered. He said it came down when the engine quit.
National Transportation Safety Board investigators were on the scene Wednesday.
