UPDATE: FBI agent pleads not guilty

OXFORD – FBI Agent Philip Halbert Neilson entered pleas of not guilty Monday to all counts in his federal indictment in an arraignment before Magistrate Judge S. Allan Alexander. She set a trial date of March 8 in Aberdeen before District Judge Sharion Aycock and set bail at $5,000.

Neilson is charged with two counts of Acts Affecting a Personal Financial Interest and three counts of Making a False Statement. The indictment alleges that while heading the FBI’s Oxford office he acquired an interest in the partnership that owned the building in which it is located.
