STARKVILLE — A fire has gutted at least three apartment buildings on Starkville’s west side, leaving about 64 people displaced.
The Starkville Daily News reports only one injury resulting from Tuesday’s fire at the Crossgates Apartment Complex.
Telephone calls to area fire departments were not immediately returned.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
Brandon Jordan, a student at East Mississippi Community College, lived in one of the buildings burned. He says he and a neighbor initially watched the blaze from a balcony, but left after police advised them to.
