Saltillo city officials say a gas leak that occured late Friday is under control.
Traffic was diverted around 123 3rd Ave. in Saltillo while officials investigated the leak. A call came in around 3 p.m. Atmos Gas fixed the leak.
A couple of residents evacuated for a short time, according to Saltillo Mayor Bill Williams.
“Fortunately, it was not a major event,” Williams said.
A private contractor hit the gas line that had not been mapped by the utility company.
Officials said there was no danger in the area at this time.
