UPDATE: Hatley football/basketball star arrested with two others for school burglary

HATLEY – Three Monroe County men have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a burglary at Hatley School that occurred on the night of the school’s graduation.

Justin Walden, 18, 60516 Cotton Gin Port Road, Amory, James Troy Ellis, 18, 509 4th Street North, Amory and Malcolm Quinn Cole, 18, 610 6th Street North, Amory were all arrested by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies. All were charged with two counts each of burglary, grand larceny and felony malicious mischief.

Bond was set for Ellis and Cole at $25,000 by Monroe County Justice Court Judge Robert Fowlkes.

Walden was a senior at Hatley High School at the time of the incident. He was also a 2010 standout on the Hatley Tigers football and basketball teams.

Fowlkes set his bond at $50,000.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Andy Hood, the investigation which led to the arrests has been ongoing for several months.
