STARKVILLE — The city of Starkville will require people to wear helmets while on bicycles, inline skates, roller skates, skateboards, motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles.
The Starkville Daily News reports that the board of aldermen voted 4-3 Tuesday to adopt the ordinance.
The city held three public hearings on the proposal.
The ordinance will take effect in 30 days and would allow a six-month grace period.
In recent weeks, the cities of Ridgeland and Hernando have adopted similar helmet requirements.
