FULTON — The Itawamba County School Board this week rescinded a 3 percent salary increase it had voted for Superintendent Teresa McNeece.
The Itawamba County Times reports that McNeece asked the board to rescind the increase because of all the budget cuts the school district was experiencing this year.
The board had approved the salary increase last month.
The school district has lost $1.8 million in two rounds of state budget cuts.
McNeece says she expects another reduction of 12 percent to 15 percent for the 2010-11 school year.
