UPDATE: Lawmen say Lafayette County man killed in his car

OXFORD — Lafayette County authorities are investigating as a homicide the death of a man who was in his car on a county road on Monday.

Sheriff’s Investigator Scott Mills tells the Oxford Eagle that 83-year-old Willie Frank Bowie was apparently killed while in his vehicle which was parked just a few feet away from his home.

Mills says Bowie’s death was being investigated as a homicide. He declined to say how Bowie was killed.

Mills said CrimeStoppers has offered a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of someone involved in the death.
