TUPELO – The annual Live Well Health Fair has been postponed because the seasonal flu vaccine ordered for the event hasn’t arrived.
North Mississippi Medical Center, with help from Mississippi Department of Health nurses, gives away thousands of flu shots at the annual event each year, said Liz Dawson, director of NMMC community health.
However, the hospital has not received the 7,000 doses it ordered nearly a year ago.
“We feel like we’ll get the vaccine, but we don’t know when,” Dawson said.
