McCOMB — Authorities say a Smithdale man faces a charge of vehicular homicide stemming from a one-vehicle accident that left a 20-year-old woman dead.
Amite County chief deputy Ray Austin said Delmus Tyler Cunningham, 20, was charged Tuesday, following the 2 a.m. wreck, in which he was the driver of a pickup that ran off a bridge.
Susan Haskins, a front seat passenger in a pickup, was killed. Haskins was a junior hospitality management major at the University of Mississippi.
Austin says John Easley of Fernwood was riding in the truck’s back seat. He said the three friends left a party and were headed to Kentwood, La., when they approached the bridge with no rails in rural Amite County.
