Mesaba Airlines has submitted a proposal to the Department of Transportation to continue air service out of Tupelo. The airline, which is seeking a federal subsidy through the Essential Air Service program, has three or four options on the table.
The proposal is just that – a proposal – and doesn’t guarantee acceptance by the DOT.
One option would allow three daily arrivals and departures. Two flights would go to Memphis and one to Atlanta. But it’s also the most expensive option.
