Pontotoc County sheriffs officials have two subjects in jail on capital murder charges after discovering a body in Troy.
Sheriff Neal Davis said a tip was called into the department and officers picked up a subject and talked to him.“Through the course of the conversation we found out there was a body there,” Davis said.
The body of a man was unearthed in a shallow grave.
“We received the call around 6:30 to 7 Friday morning,” Davis said. The body of Gene Inman, 74, of 204 Dunn Circle was discovered in the grave.
According to officials Inman moved here from Quincy, Ill. several years ago.Dunn Circle is located in the very southeastern part of the county close to the Lee County Line.
Terry Dee Hayes, 52, of 204 Dunn Circle, Okolona and Brandon Cory Grubbs, 24, of 129 Chestnut Drive New Albany are each being held on a $2 million bond.The pair are charged with capital murder and armed robbery.
A third suspect was questioned and released by the department.
