UPDATE: No fatalities reported in Tishomingo plane crash

Emergency crews are responding to the scene of a plane crash in Tishomingo County.

According to law enforcement, a plane crashed in the Midway community off of Highway 25, halfway between Iuka and Tishomingo.

A small, single-engine plane went down behind the Nelson residence. There were no fatalities and apparently no serious injuries.

According to the FAA, the plane went down in an empty field around 4:30 p.m.

Also according to the FAA, the plane is a PIPER built in 1974. It’s registered to Siherb Aviation Corp. out of Fraklin, Ind.

Highway Patrol’s Casey Mayo said it was a crash landing and two people in the plane walked away from the crash. They are being treated by medics right now.
