UPDATE: Non-functional grenade found at Goodwill in Tupelo

A grenade was found at Goodwill on North Gloster in a box of donated clothes. The grenade was not functional as it had been hollowed out and filled to be used as a paper weight.


Police are responding to a call at the Goodwill store on North Gloster of a possible grenade being in the drop-box. Several Tupelo Police cars and the Tupelo Fire Department are on the scene.
It is unclear at this time if what was actually found is a grenade. The Tupelo Bomb Squad is on the way.

12:30 According to Tupelo Police scanner reports, a hand-grenade has been found at the Tupelo Goodwill store.

It is not known, at this time, whether or not there is an actual grenade.
