UPDATE: One name released in connection with Itawamba County restaurant robbery

Three men were apprehended following a high-speed chase Sunday night after they allegedly snatched a purse from behind the counter at Huatulco Restaurant located in the Fulton Plaza on South Adams Street in Fulton.

According to Sheriff Chris Dickinson, no money was taken in the attempted robbery.

Corey Williams, 37, of 5436 Meadow Lake Drive, Memphis, Tenn., was the driver of the vehicle. He and two accomplices were apprehended at Parks Chevrolet in New Albany and are currently in the Itawamba County Jail.

Charges against the trio include felony evading authorities in Itawamba, Lee and Union counties, as well as attempted robbery.

Assisting in the pursuit were sheriff’s departments from all three counties, in addition to the Fulton Police Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol, New Albany Police Department and Sherman Police Department.
