UPDATE: Parties agree to drop Sanctuary Hospice lawsuit

TUPELO – A federal lawsuit was dismissed today against Sanctuary Hospice House and its former clinical director.

Casey Lott of Booneville, attorney for the plaintiffs, said all parties had agreed not to divulge any details to the media.

In September 2008, Rebecca Dillard and Faye McLain of Georgia sued Dr. Paul White, Marilyn Lehman and Sanctuary claiming they acted improperly in the premature death of the women’s mother, Esther Evans.

White was medical director and Lehman clinical director at Sanctuary when Evans died there in 2006.

Their complaint against White was dismissed about a year ago.

About five state lawsuits remain in Lee County on other claims, and motions to dismiss have been filed by defendants in at least three of them.
