Plantersville Middle School dismissed students at 2:15 today because of a town-wide water problem that has also affected the school.
The town of Plantersville issued a boil-water alert that affects about 1,150 customers, including the school. It is due to a system-wide pressure loss from one or more line breaks.
Lee County Superintendent Mike Scott said that the school has been without water all day.
Scott expects that school to resume as normal Monday. The water will not likely be drinkable then, but he said the district has taken 100 cases of water to the school for use next week.
