UPDATE: Prentiss County authorities say man may have shot wife, himself

THRASHER – Prentiss County authorities say a shooting in the Thrasher community that left a man dead and his wife hospitalized in critical condition could have been a murder-suicide attempt.
Prentiss County Sheriff Tolar said deputies responded to a call that someone had been shot in the Thrasher Community at about 1:15 a.m.
He said upon arrival at the scene a 65-year-old woman Barbara McCoy of 59 CR 1040 was found with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Deputies also found the found the body of 72-year-old Edward McCoy at the same address.
Tolar said the man appeared to have suffered a self inflicted gunshot wound. He and the 65-year-old victim were married.
The woman was taken to the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth, where authorities say she is in critical condition but stable condition.
