Forrest County Community Work Center inmate Paul Pettis has been captured after escaping on Aug. 23 from the work center in Hattiesburg.
He is serving a five year sentence for a conviction of Possession of Tools for the commission of a crime in Lafayette County.
Pettis, 39, was apprehended at approximately 3 p.m. today in Panola County by Panola County sheriff’s deputies.
He now faces an additional five year sentence if convicted of escape.
