A high school football referee close to the Aberdeen situation has told the Monroe Journal this morning the ticket issued to a colleague in Aberdeen on Friday has been rescinded.
The official in question had been given a ticket for reckless driving, a charge the official and District 1 Assigning Secretary Larry Riley said was not deserved.
Rescinding the ticket was a part of the settlement required by Riley before he would send any officials to any remaining Aberdeen home games this season.
Aberdeen superintendent Chester Leigh told the newspaper Wednesday that the district and the Association of Officials had a good talk late Wednesday and reached an agreement satisfactory to all parties so this week’s and future Aberdeen game could be played at home with officials.
