The special session of the Mississippi Legislature scheduled for Friday has been postponed.
Gov. Haley Barbour issued a statement Wednesday afternoon saying the company involved in an economic development project to be the subject of the special session “needs additional time to complete its preparations for executing the project…” A brief special session will be called as soon as the company is ready, Barbour said.
The governor has said the project could produce up to 500 jobs in the Mississippi Delta.
