UPDATE: Suspect surrenders in Lafayette County double homicide

OXFORD – Caleb Carothers, 27, of Oxford, turned himself in to Lafayette County law enforcement authorities Friday morning in connection with a shooting Saturday night that left two people dead and one other wounded.

Frank Taylor Clark II, 44, and his son, Charles Taylor Clark, 20, were killed at their home. Frank Clark’s wife and Charles Clark’s mother, Tonya Clark, suffered at least one gunshot wound and was hospitalized. Another son, Josh, was at home when the shooting happened but was not injured.

Carothers, who lives in the Brittany Woods subdivision just east of Oxford, is charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated robbery, according to Scott Mills, chief investigator for the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department. Bond has not been set.
