RIPLEY—A Tippah County sheriff’s deputy would not confirm that the lockdown has been lifted from the Tippah County Hospital, but the front doors are open. The deputy said the threat was made via phone earlier today and they are currently working to resolve the issue.
There have been no further statements by the Tippah County Hospital staff.
The Southern Sentinel will release more information as it becomes available.
11:15 A.M.: The Tippah County Hospital, in Ripley has been placed on lockdown according to an official with the hospital.
Following inquiry calls by the Southern Sentinel, the official, who did not want their name revealed, returned a call at approximately 10:45 a.m. and released this statement:
“Due to a threat against employees, the hospital has been placed on lockdown.”
