UPDATE: Tippah County man arrested for possession of child porn

JACKSON – A Tippah County man has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.

Investigators with the Office of the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Ronnie Andrew Fortune, age 21, at his home in Falkner today, with the assistance of the Tippah County Sheriff’s Office, for one count of possession of child pornography.

Fortune was booked into the Tippah County jail where his bond has been set at $50,000.

If convicted, he faces five to forty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).

“We’re using technology to track down those who are downloading child porn in this state,” said Attorney General Hood. “It’s happening statewide and we’re on a mission to stop it.”

As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
