UPDATE: Two die in separate highway accidents

Two people died in Friday auto accidents in Northeast Mississippi. One person died in Alcorn County and one died in Clay County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

In Alcorn County: A two vehicle crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Friday on Highway 72, East of County Road 746 in Alcorn County. The fatality is Rosemary Adams, a 54 year old female from Euclaid Ohio.

Adams was transported by ambulance to Magnolia Hospital in Corinth. Adams was pronounced dead at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth by the Alcorn County Coroner.

The vehicle Adams was riding in was a Gold 1998 Chevrolet Lumina. The Lumina was driven by Geannie H. Parker, 66, of Ashland. Parker was traveling West on highway 72, she was airlifted to NMMC – Tupelo.

The other vehicle involved in the crash was a Black 2009 Nissan Versa. The Nissan was driven by Donna Isbell, 51, from Glen. Isbell was traveling West also on Highway 72.

Isbell was transported by ambulance to NMMC – Tupelo. All persons involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts.

The crash is still under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol.

In Clay County: A two vehicle crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Friday Highway 50 at the intersection of Waverly Road in Clay County East of West Point. The fatality is Shane Marshall Delay, 23, of West Point.

The vehicle he was driving was a Black 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Delay was traveling East on highway 50. The other vehicle involved in the crash was a Black 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche that was pulling a boat. The Chevrolet was driven by Danny Comer, 48, of West Point. Comer was traveling North on Waverly Road.

The vehicle Comer was driving was occupied by three children ages nine, ten, and thirteen years of age.

Delay was transported by ambulance to Baptist hospital in Columbus. The other persons involved in the crash were not injured. Delay was pronounced dead at Baptist Hospital in Columbus by the Clay County Coroner.

The crash is still under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol.
