Charges against two men initially accused of armed robbery have been upgraded to capital murder after the Prentiss County victim died.
Steven K. Holley, 45, of Thrasher, died early Friday at North Mississippi Medical Center of multiple blows to the head that he suffered during a May 15 assault and armed robbery, said Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar.
Jeremy Huguley, 20, of Rienzi, and Charles David Burleson, 27, of Tupelo, remain in Prentiss County jail. Bond was set late Friday at $1 million for each suspect. However, Burleson would not be eligible to bond out since he is on hold by the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the sheriff said.
