SHANNON – A 17-year-old at the Shannon home football game Friday night reportedly sent police on a lengthy foot chase.
According to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson, around 8:15 p.m. police got a call of a strong-arm robbery at the gate to the football game.
Johnson said two males grabbed a money box. One ran away from the scene and the other drove away.
Johnson said the 17-year-old was taken into custody and is in the Lee County jail. Another male suspect turned himself in shortly after the incident.
One school official at the game said the two males are former football players.
