UPDATE: Verona clerk hit with hammer during robbery

A Verona store clerk is recovering after being attacked with a hammer during an armed robbery.
Police say the Super C Tobacco Store was robbed by a man at 11:30 this morning.
A suspect is in custody.
The clerk told investigators a man came in asking if they sold pre-paid phone cards and then left.
He returned a short time later and asked to buy a phone card.
The clerk says when she looked down to get one he then hit her with a hammer.
The clerk says the man then took the money out of the register and took her personal money as well then took her to a back room and tied her to a chair with duct tape.
