Vardaman aldermen decrease their salaries

VARDAMAN – Aldermen this month decided not to raise their salaries, contrary to a spring vote.
Board members had voted to raise their salary to $350 per month in the term of office that started in July, but later rescinded that vote. The decision this month further decreases the board’s salary from $250 to $200 per month.
While lowering their own pay, the board granted raises of $1,000 per year to all full-time employees.
